Atlantic Broadband

As stated on their website, Atlantic Broadband is “a new company formed by a team of experienced broadband cable professionals.” Appearing to cater to a niche audience of the more affluent who don’t want to roll with the masses, Atlantic Broadband offers 24/7 customer support and a number of services catered to the individual including phone number switching, unlimited long distance, digital cable, in addition to their comprehensive high-speed online services.

When it comes to high speed online, Atlantic Broadband has three different services: Starter, Preferred, and the Max Services. Though to some, the difference may seem slight and tolerable, for others the difference between a 256 and 24K is the difference between being stuck inside a perpetual hourglass and getting work done. Some information is available online about Atlantic Broadband; unfortunately though, their website is fairly unresponsive and somewhat inhospitable to the non customer. But so long as you live in their coverage area and/or know your way around the site, it shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

STARTER: Starter service is the beginner’s course on Atlantic Broadband. If you’re relatively new to broadband, really only use the home computer for email, and can’t picture your use spiking that much, Starter is a plan you may wish to consider.

PREFERRED: Preferred service is the run of the mill service that most people get as it allows greater bandwidth for a different variety of things like music downloads, movie or video players, and game playing making it an ideal service for the more regular user.

MAX: With Max Service you’re offered much greater range of choice in your internet usage. This is an ideal service for heavy users, people who make their living needing the speed and convenience of being online all the time.

In terms of ancillary services offered by Atlantic Broadband, there are many. If you need email, cable, ability to pay your bill on the internet and other applications, you should take full advantage of Atlantic Broadband.

Atlantic Broadband has a full customer service phone support offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. However, if Atlantic Broadband phone support is anything like their online presence, it may need some work. I have never utilized their call center before though so I can’t say for sure.

Atlantic Broadband touts them as the “ideal” internet solution for your every internet need. With their three tiered business model, 24 hour support, and numerous other services to choose from, Atlantic Broadband may be experiencing some growing pains, currently. So look for them to either stabilize or level off or the other, less glorious alternative.
